Waterloo health-tech startup, Alaunus is the recipient of a grant from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The $100,000 from the province’s Health Technologies Fund will help the company pilot their “Bloom” software. The platform will allow patients and family members to find caregivers as well as track bookings and ongoing care. Training and at-home remote monitoring can also be managed.Alaunus says “Bloom” has a number of advantages including a 15-20% reduction of the costs of home care services. It also provides more care and control to more patients, and encourages faster, more accountable care.
